Our First Litter

We are a family run farm and only occasionally have puppies for sale. It is important to us to preserve the Rough Collie breed and maintain a quality line, so our breeding is done intentionally and selectively. You can read more about our collies’ pedigree, breeding and care on our Collies page.

Here are the puppies from our first litter. The dam was Izzie and the sire was Indy. This litter was purebred but unregistered Rough Collies.

Five Week Check-up

We just took all of the puppies (and mother) to the vet for a five week check-up. All checked out fine and also received their first de-worming medicine. Ireland and Piper both weighed in at 4.8 pounds; Axle 5; Duke 5.2; Rey 5.6; Princess 6.2; Adam 6.4 and Moana was the champion at 6.6 pounds. Izzy was also doing very well.

Seven Week Check-up

All the puppies went for their seven week check-up on 3 February. The vet said they were very healthy and she was impressed with their docile disposition. They received their second de-worming as well as their first set of shots. Here are their weights: Moana-11.7; Adam-11.5; Princes-11; Rae-10.10; Duke & Axle-10.4; Ireland-8.8; Piper-8.14.

The “fine print”:

Prices are for puppies picked up at our farm. Delivery or shipping is additional and will be quoted based on distance and location of buyer. Air hipping ranges from about $400 to most parts of CONUS to about $900 to Alaska. All puppies are considered “available” until a $200 reservation deposit has been received. Deposits are non-refundable but may be transferred to another available puppy or later litter. Any known conditions will be stated before purchase and all puppies are guaranteed to be free of genetic defects or diseases and guaranteed healthy at time of delivery. Puppies will be up-to-date on shots and have current health certificate. If the buyer, due to changing circumstances, can no longer keep a purchased collie, buyer can give it back to White Oak Family Farm (regardless of age) and we will attempt to find another suitable home for it.

The remaining $600 will be due when you pick your puppy up, or before out-of-town delivery is arranged.
